CUPE Support Staff Strike Enters Second Week, Impacts Eight Schools in Fort McMurray

FORT MCMURRAY, Alberta — The ongoing strike by CUPE Locals 2559 and 2545 has entered its second week, with support staff absent from eight schools on Monday across both the Public and Catholic school divisions.

In the Catholic Division, Father Mercredi High School, Saint Kateri, Saint Gabriel, and Immaculate Heart of Mary will be without support workers. Meanwhile, in the Public Division, support staff are striking at Fort McMurray Composite High School, Walter and Gladys Hill Public School, Westwood Community High School, and Westview School.
