Maxx Dental Employee Recovers From COVID-19, Staff and Patients All Test Negative

An employee at Maxx Dental Group who contracted COVID-19 no longer has the virus.

That’s according to Brad McCoy, owner of the dental office, who says the worker recently undertook multiple new tests that determined she was no longer sick.

She is among 279 individuals who’ve recovered from the illness across the province.

It’s believed she contracted it after attending the Pacific Dental Conference in Vancouver in early March. Multiple guests at the event had tested positive for the virus.

This was also the first reported case in Wood Buffalo. There has since been five more, as of Sunday.

Meanwhile, McCoy adds that all staff and patients who were in the office at the same time as the employee have all tested negative. He personally received confirmation from each.

People are still be reminded to stay home if able and to practice physical distancing when out in public. Gatherings are also limited to a maximum of 15 people.

Those who are sick are being asked to self-isolate for at least 10 days or when the symptoms disappear, whatever is longer. People who recently traveled must stay home for 14 days.
