Wrexham Lager Beer Co., that is.
No, this isn’t a repeat from three years ago when the famous comedians bought the Wrexham AFC football team. That journey you can relive by watching through the incredibly entertaining docu-series “Welcome to Wrexham”. However, this announcement is clearly related – and steeped in some of the same rich Welsh history that the team is. In fact, the Wrexham Lager Brewery is the oldest still-operating in Great Britain, utilising a recipe that has not changed in 140 years. This beer was served on the Titanic, for crying out loud.
What IS changing is the marketing and distribution. As we learn in the announcement video, Wrexham will be coming to the US and Canada in an official capacity in the next few months. Call that a home-coming for American Rob McElhenney and Canadian Ryan Reynolds.
Expect more goofy-but-hilarious videos promoting the various brews in the future. In the mean time, you can read all about it in an exclusive from People Magazine.
