Liberal Party of Canada Announces New Campaign Leadership Ahead of Federal Election.

The Liberal Party of Canada has appointed veteran Liberal strategist Andrew Bevan as Campaign Director and Marjorie Michel as Deputy Campaign Director for the upcoming federal election, scheduled for October 2025.

“Andrew Bevan has been a leader in moving forward progressive priorities for more than 30 years,” said Liberal Leader, Justin Trudeau. “With deep experience in provincial and federal politics, he – along with Marjorie Michel and the entire Liberal campaign team – is ready to build a winning campaign that focuses on Canadians’ priorities.”

Earlier this year, the previous campaign director, Jeremey Broadhurst, resigned from the position after serving the party for five national campaigns.

The Liberals have been mired in lagging polling numbers for over a year, with recent polls putting them tied with the NDP at just 22 per cent support nationally. Meanwhile, the Bloc Québécois are vowing to introduce a non-confidence motion later this month if the minority Liberals fail to increase seniors’ benefits and shore up protections for supply management in the dairy industry. The NDP have already ended their formal agreement to support the Liberals, choosing instead to vote with or agains the government on a case-by-case basis.

Still, the newly appointed Campaign Director is undeterred.

“We will build a winning campaign that re-elects Justin Trudeau and more Liberal MPs, so we can keep Canada moving forward,” Bevan stated.

The House of Commons is currently on Thanksgiving break and will resume sitting on October 21.
