Urgent TikTok Scam Alert — Don’t Fall for This Phony Text!

Scammers are using TikTok’s name to carry out phishing schemes. Officials from the popular social media platform are alerting the public about a phishing scam involving text messages, where fraudsters pretend to be TikTok recruiters. According to The Mirror, a Reddit user recently shared (in a post that has since been deleted) that they received an unusual text from someone claiming to work in TikTok’s HR department.

The message read,

“Hello, I’m from TikTok’s HR team. Your resume is a great fit for our roles. TikTok is looking for 300 part-time business development partners. No experience necessary. The job is easy to learn, can be done on your phone, and offers a relaxed environment. Daily pay ranges from $223 to $557. Contact us ASAP for more details. We look forward to working with you soon.”

Coincidentally, the Redditor had been job hunting but wanted to verify the message’s legitimacy. They posted a screenshot on Reddit to get feedback, and users quickly identified it as a phishing attempt. One commenter advised, “If I didn’t give you my information or an authorized party didn’t, it’s spam. I don’t accept any bills via text, whether they’re legitimate or not.”

TikTok’s official site also urges users to be cautious of scammers posing as company employees.
