FORT MCMURRAY, Alberta — RCMP in Fort McMurray are asking for the public’s help in locating Darwin James Schmidt, a 48-year-old man reported missing on September 23, 2024.

Schmidt was last seen at his residence in the Timberlea area on September 19, 2024. He was confirmed to have been seen in downtown Fort McMurray at approximately 3:00 p.m. on September 20, 2024, and on TaigaNova Crescent on September 22, 2024.

Schmidt has brown eyes and black hair. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighs approximately 150 pounds. Police have conducted searches in areas where Schmidt is known to frequent but have not been able to locate him. RCMP say they are concerned for his well-being and ask anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP detachment.
