Snye Point dredging begins next week

RMWB has announced the annual Snye dredging will take place beginning on Monday.

Construction fencing will be installed next week, and Snye Point will be closed until mid-September.

The RM says this is necessary as sediment deposits build up throughout the year from the Clearwater River. Removing the sediment allows the Snye to maintain access to the river.

The boat launches will remain open next week, but with the water levels at low depths, there is limited access to the Clearwater River from the boat launches. Boaters are being encouraged to use a different boat launch until the dredging is complete.

Actual dredging will take place beginning on August 19. The expected completion date is set for September 15.

Until the project is complete, parking in the lot next to Snye Point will be limited or not possible.
