Students from Westwood High School returned from the Canada-wide science fair with medals and scholarships.

Riley Saha Halder received a special award and a $1,000 scholarship for a project titled “Enhancing Bioplastic Performance Using Eggshell Waste and Chitosan.”

Shayan Awan captured an intermediate bronze for a study called “NeuroSpectrum: A Brainwave-Powered Vision Enhancement Device.”

Tanya Jivani and Lalithya Raavi won the senior bronze medal for their project, “Fueling the Future: Investigating Cost-Efficient Methods of Hydrogen Production.”

The Fort McMurray Public School Division expressed pride in the accomplishments of the student scientists.
