The RMWB is opening applications for the Community Investment Program (CIP).
Community organizations, individuals, and teams can apply for municipal grants that help support delivering programs, projects and events, as well as supporting cultural activities, arts, and individual or team development of a sport.
The RMWB updated the policy in July to continue to provide support, increase efficiencies, and eliminate the duplication of services, while also reflecting the funding priorities.
Council decided the funding priorities for 2024 at the last council meeting on September 12, 2023.
The CIP strategic funding priorities are:
- Partnership and Collaboration
- Rural and Indigenous Communities and Relationships
- Social Participation
- Community Support Services and Wellness
- Value of Culture, Heritage, and Regional Pride
- Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
- Hosting events and/or new business and visitors
The grants that are currently open for applications are the Community Impact Grant, Games Legacy Grant, Community Sustaining Grant, and Community Capital Grant.
The Community Impact Grant is directed to local non-profit organizations to support community needs.
This grant has two streams but applicants can only apply for one of the streams.
Non-profit organizations can apply to Community Programs and Projects for a maximum of $80,000 or Community Events for a maximum of $20,000, but cannot apply to both.
The Games Legacy Grant is aimed to develop amateur sport, cultural activities and art, and to residents competing in Provincial, National, or International competitions.
Individual applications will fund up to $1,500, while group or team applicants can apply for up to $3,000.
The Community Sustaining Grant and Community Capital Grant applications are by invitation only.
Organizations that are interested in applying to that stream must schedule a pre-application meeting with the CIP.
The deadline to apply for the grants is November 1, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. and late applications will not be accepted.
