Lightning struck a home in the Bear Ridge area of Timberlea over the weekend.
According to the RMWB, shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, a resident reported a lightning strike at a duplex on Bear Paw and smoke was filling a unit.
Firefighters from Regional Emergency Services arrived seven minutes after receiving the report.
“Crews were able to locate the fire and bring it under control within a half hour. Firefighters remained at the scene until around 11:30 p.m. to ensure the blaze was fully extinguished,” says the RMWB.
The home sustained damage to the main floor ceiling, the flooring of the second story, along with the roof.
