Tayden Shott took first place in the men’s 3D compound bow archery competition in the U16 group, beating out competitors from as far away as New Mexico.

FMFN Chief and Council are offering their congratulations to Shott.

“Tayden Shott has only been competing for two years and has already experienced great success.”

Shott’s trophy case also includes a first-place prize from the 2022 Alberta Indigenous Games, a second-place finish in the 2023 provincials, and he also received the 2020 Alberta Honouring Your Spirit Award.

The 6’4” member of the Fort McKay First Nation says his Grandmother is his role model because she treats everyone with kindness, works hard and always encourages him to do his best.

The 10th annual NAIG were held in Halifax, Nova Scotia from July 15 to 23, and brought together representatives from over 70 Nations across the continent to compete.
