The Government of Canada has announced a one-time payment of $500 to help low-income individuals and families pay rent this December.

The money will be released as a top-up to the Canadian Housing Benefit for families who had an adjusted income of less than $35,000 or for individuals who had an adjusted income below $20,000 for the 2022 tax year.

Applications for this one-time payment open up on Monday, December 12, 2022.
