The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is seeking feedback on designs for their Reach 6 permanent flood mitigation project.
Reach 6 is the area that goes from Riedel St. up to Longboat Landing in the downtown area along the Clearwater River.
A preliminary design and two design options are being put forward to residents in a series of public open house events.
Option one is to raise Clearwater Drive to the flood protection level (250.9 m) at an estimated cost of $106.7 million.
While option two would see a berm built up to the flood protection level located between Clearwater Drive and the Clearwater River at an estimated cost of $35.9 million.
An online survey along with additional information on the project is located on the RMWB website.
Multiple public open house events will be available for further feedback.
