Fort McMurray is seeing a slight increase in active COVID-19 cases.

The province announced on Wednesday 430 new cases across Alberta.

There are currently 4,545 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 132,033 positive tests. There are also 307 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 56 of which are in ICUs.

Locally, Fort McMurray added two new cases and no recoveries, which raises the active total to 36.

The rural areas saw an additional recovery, lowering the total of active cases to one.

There continue to be no active cases in Wood Buffalo National Park.

In total, 1,848 individuals across the RMWB – 1,708 in Fort McMurray, 131 in the rural areas, and nine in Wood Buffalo National Park – have recovered.

They are among the 125,662 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 95 per cent of reported cases.

There were also 13 new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 1,866.

To date, three individuals in Fort McMurray have died as a result of the virus.
