Earls Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19

An employee at Earls in downtown Fort McMurray has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a post on Facebook, the restaurant says they were notified on Sunday and have since taken steps to ensure all appropriate contact tracing has taken place.

All these individuals are currently in self-isolating and are awaiting their test results.

The employee last worked at the restaurant on August 18.

“We have taken the additional step of closing our restaurant and delivery services for 24 hours to allow for a full clean and professional disinfection to take place,” said Stu Wigle, Earls’ Managing Partner. “This is out of an abundance of caution and our care and concern for our staff and patrons.”

He adds the restaurant has been in contact with Alberta Health Services to ensure all protocols are being followed.
