Six candidates confirmed in Fort McMurray–Cold Lake federal race
FORT McMURRAY, AB — The race is officially on in Fort McMurray–Cold Lake, with six candidates confirmed by Elections Canada to appear on the ballot for the upcoming federal election.
Incumbent MP Laila Goodridge is seeking re-election under the Conservative banner. She’ll be facing off against Kaitlyn Stains for the Liberal Party, You-Ju Choi for the NDP, Alan Clarke for the People’s Party, and Brian Deheer for the Green Party.
Joining the race as a surprise independent candidate is Kulbir Chawla, adding an extra layer of competition for the mainstream parties.
Advance polls open April 18, with election day set for April 28.
