Not Much of a Switch-Up For the Switch 2

After years of bogus “SWITCH 2 LEAKS OMG” videos eating up my YouTube suggestions, it’s finally real and it’s finally here. Well, almost.

“Introducing Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to Nintendo Switch, releasing in 2025.”

The fancy video is slick, but the actual details are very sparse for the freshly-announced Switch 2. Does it output 4K? Does it cost $4K? With backwards compatibility being a selling feature, which titles exactly fall under the “incompatible or not fully supported” category? And when exactly is the cool special edition version coming out so we can save our money for that?

All in due time, I’m sure. For now I’m just happy that the JoyCons have been updated to attach with magnets instead of the one-way rail system that everyone tries to force in the wrong direction.

“Magnets. Always with the magnets”
