No Explosives Found After Bomb Threats Target Three Red Deer Schools

RCMP Investigate Bomb Threats at Red Deer Schools

RED DEER, Alta. — RCMP are investigating a series of bomb threats that targeted three schools in Red Deer earlier this week.

Between Dec. 15 and 16, administrators at St. Joseph’s High School, St. Francis of Assisi Middle School, and Pines Alternative School received emails containing bomb threats. Police conducted thorough searches of the school buildings and surrounding areas but found no explosive devices.

RCMP have concluded the threats were a hoax, stating there is no risk to students, staff, or the wider Red Deer community. Preliminary investigations suggest the emails originated from outside Canada, and police are continuing efforts to identify the source of the threats.

Students and staff have since returned to class, with no further disruptions reported.
