RCMP investigating break and enter

Fort McMurray, AB — Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating a residential break-and-enter that occurred in the early hours of Nov. 1, 2024, on Athabasca Avenue. Around 7:30 a.m., a resident discovered bags of food and liquor left outside the front door, alerting them to a possible intrusion.

After reviewing surveillance footage, the resident observed that an unknown male suspect had entered the home sometime between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. while the residents were asleep. The suspect reportedly stole a winter jacket, vehicle keys, and sunglasses before leaving the property.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male with a thin beard, wearing a black winter jacket and blue jeans. Police have obtained surveillance images of the individual and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying him.
