Gen Z Finds Love in the Last Place You’d Expect, Study Shows

Grocery stores are no longer just for milk and eggs—Gen Z is now looking for love somewhere between the canned goods and produce! Tired of endless swiping, young singles are putting down their phones and picking up potential partners in aisle 5. According to research by Smirnoff and YouGov, about 47% of Gen Z daters would rather meet someone while reaching for a loaf of bread than on dating apps. Smirnoff’s marketing manager, Maddy Stockwell, says the trend is a return to “old-school tactics” as Zoomers ditch the “chronically online” life for face-to-face connections. And it’s not just romance they’re after—nearly 78% of single Gen Z-ers prefer genuine, in-person friendships too.

In other words, love might be waiting right next to the avocados—no profile pic required!
