Ricco the rooster is headed to court after a neighbor filed a complaint over his noisy crowing, claiming it’s caused sleepless nights and concentration issues. The disgruntled neighbor, who wants to remain anonymous, says Ricco’s crowing is unbearable both day and night. 

However, Ricco’s owners argue he’s no early bird, thanks to an automatic coop door that keeps him quiet until at least 8:30 a.m. They say he crows briefly in the morning and occasionally later. The case hinges on whether their area is still rural enough for farm sounds to be considered part of France’s “sensory heritage.” Meanwhile, Ricco’s got a Facebook fan club cheering him on, telling his haters to move if they don’t like his morning tunes!
