Doctors in New Delhi got the surprise of their lives when they found a live 3-centimeter cockroach hanging out in a patient’s small intestine. A 23-year-old man, suffering from stomach pain and bloating, had recently indulged in some street food, suspecting it was the culprit. But after an Upper GI Endoscopy, doctors discovered something much grosser than bad food—an actual living cockroach, chilling inside him like it was on vacation.

The medical team skillfully removed the bug using an endoscope. As for how it got there, doctors think the man either swallowed it during his midnight street food feast or, even worse, it crawled down his throat while he slept. Talk about “nightmare fuel!”
