FORT McMURRAY, Alberta— Nominations have closed, and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) is out with the official candidates for the upcoming Ward 4 by-election.

Three residents are on the ballot, Nina Caines, Stella Lavallee, and Chad Shkopitch. They are vying to fill the Ward 4 seat on the RMWB Council left vacant when Councilor Jane Stroud passed away late this summer. Stroud represented Ward 4 for nearly 14 years.

Election day is scheduled for Nov. 4, with polling stations at the Anzac Recreation Centre, Conklin Multiplex, and Janvier Municipal Office. Advance voting will be available in Anzac and Conklin on Oct. 29, and in Janvier on Oct. 30. Proper identification is required to cast a ballot.
