Star Wars Outlaws Out Today

“If you’re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.”

Just in time for a long weekend gaming session, the first-ever open world Star Wars game – Star Wars Outlaws – is finally out. You may have already seen a pile of people talking about their experiences playing, sharing images from the in-game photo mode, or confirming that you CAN pet your companion critter Nix, thanks to an early-access incentive. But today is official release date.

Again I share with a sense of pride that the star performer for the game, Humberly Gonzalez as the scoundrel Kay Vess, is a former Fort McMurrayite. Originally and proudly from Venezuela, Humberly started on her performance journey formally on the stage here in Alberta’s north. And it’s more than voice work, most of the actions and mannerisms that belong to Kay are 100% Humberly, captured in the Ubisoft volume.

Previously Humberly played a role in the blockbuster release Farcry 6, and has been on the big screen earlier this year in the horror flick Tarot – just to name a couple of credits. Huge congratulations from all of the Fort McMurray fans.

Earlier this month the SW Outlaws team were able to visit Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany – the world’s largest PC and gaming event. Here’s Humberly sitting in with XBox live at Gamescom to talk all things Kay and Nix. (starts at 50:48)
