RMWB seeking candidates for Council’s Excellence Awards

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is asking residents to step up and nominate a community champion for this year’s Council Excellence Awards. The awards recognize community leaders, young achievers, and real-life heroes committed to making a positive impact in the region.

There are four award categories this year, including Citizen of the Year, Everyday Hero, Indigenous Advocate, and Youth Achievement.

“If you know someone that’s doing great things in the community, we encourage you to nominate them for one of these four awards,” said Mayor Sandy Bowman.

“Council’s Excellence Awards allow us to honour and celebrate those among us that are working every day to improve the lives of those around them.”

Winners are selected by the Mayor and Council, and all nominations must be made by October 14th. Applications can be submitted online at: rmwb.ca/excellence
