UPDATED: There is new information on the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team activities in Fort McMurray on Wednesday.  

According to a statement from ALERT, three search warrants were executed as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. 

A variety of drugs were seized, but ALERT is still processing evidence and does not have exact numbers to be released at this time. 

A number of suspects were arrested, but no charges are being announced at this time. 

ALERT says the Wood Buffalo RCMP assisted in the execution of these search warrants. Our local detachment was unable to comment on the matter.

It is believed more information will be released early next week.
