RCMP lay charges in multiple liquor store robberies

FORT McMURRAY, Alberta —Wood Buffalo RCMP have laid charges in connection with a series of liquor store robberies in Fort McMurray.

Between May 4 and June 1, 2024, officers responded to five separate robbery calls at Ace Liquor Stores on Real Martin Drive and in the 600 block of Signal Road. The suspects stole liquor and cash, including from the register and safe, with losses exceeding $15,000.

On May 23, 2024, during one of the robberies, the suspects tied an employee to a chair to prevent them from alerting police.
