Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating a pair of thefts that took place recently.
The first took place on the afternoon of April 10th, when a woman entered Sweet Antiques in downtown Fort McMurray, asking to see jewelry that was locked in a case. The employee did not notice the woman steal a ring worth $1,500 from the display before the suspect left the store.
After the employee noticed the missing ring, they left the store and confronted the suspect, who then assaulted the employee.
Wood Buffalo RCMP obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and are still investigating.
The second incident occurred on July 2nd in the Riverstone Ridge area. Surveillance footage showed a man stealing liquor from a store. Police obtained that footage and are still investigating.
