The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) council will be revisiting its decision to transition their positions from part-time to full-time.
During the June 18th council meeting, Ward 1 representative Funky Banjoko served a notice of motion calling on the council to reconsider their decision to become full-time representatives. Under the RMWB procedural Bylaw No. 18/020, any councilor who voted with the majority on a motion can request a reconsideration.
The item will now be debated at a special meeting scheduled for July 3rd, and the public will be allowed to attend and share their views on the issue as delegates.
A recent petition calling on the Alberta Government to launch an investigation into the June 11th vote has garnered over 1,100 signatures.
