Amateur Baseball is returning to Fort McMurray this August.
Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo is set to host the 2024 Baseball Canada Cup from August 7th to 11th with games at Mac Island and Ross Hennigar Park. The tournament comes through a partnership between the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association (FMMBA) and the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC).
“We are excited to welcome Baseball Canada back to the region this summer,” said Mike Mayuk, Organizing Committee Co-Chair and FMMBA President.
The national tournament serves as both a competition and an opportunity for players to show their skills to scouts for Canada’s national team. Jason Dickson, CEO of Baseball Canada, says this year’s event promises to be both exciting and memorable.
Jason Dickson, CEO of Baseball Canada is encouraging fans, players, and visitors to use the tournament as an opportunity to explore Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo.
“While you’re away from the ballpark, meet new friends and add to the memories to the ones that this event will surely create,” said Dickson.
