An Alberta gourmet, filmmaker, and food hunter is coming to our region in June.
Kevin Kossowan is a foodie who is touring Alberta to teach people about foraging for food in our great outdoors. The tour makes its way to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo on June 15th and 16th.
“The province is a biodiverse and geographically varied, with loads to offer,” wrote Kossowan on his Foraging Tour website.
During the foraging walks, Kossowan will teach people about 10-20 species of wild edible plants and fungus, with a focus on their use in the home kitchen.
“We’ll talk savoury courses, desserts, and drinks, leaving you with loads of ideas of how to enjoy the flavours of the forest at home,” wrote Kossowan.
While the tour will make stops throughout Alberta, Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo is the only region with two dates scheduled.
