Updating the internal glossary of terms this morning with a couple of new ones that have become popular to drop in casual conversation of late. Class is in session.
“Sunshine Guilt” – is actually a fairly universal feeling: when it’s a gorgeous day outside but you are inside trying to get some much needed rest and relaxation. You can’t help feeling guilty about it. Don’t beat yourself up too much, but try not to let too many of those ideal days pass you by. Especially with the weather truly warming up soon. There’s also this crazy idea that you might be able to just be lazy IN the sunshine. Revolutionary, but it is possible. And you don’t need a tropical beach to do it. Just don’t be lazy with the SPF.
“Office Goggles” – This term has been traced back to a self-proclaimed dating expert podcast host who wants you to know that you don’t actually find your co-worker as attractive as you think. It’s just the office goggles you’ve got on. So maybe don’t risk the spouse and kids over it. Or at the very least, take a moment to honestly ask if you’d have any genuine interest if you just ran into them on the street instead of spending 40 hours a week in lock-up together.
Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
