Property owners can expect to see their municipal tax assessment in their mailbox soon.
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) began mailing out the notices on February 20th.
For the 2024 tax year, the property assessments are based on market values on July 1, 2023, and physical conditions of properties as of Dec. 31, 2023. Assessments are then used to calculate your annual property tax.
You can also access information about your property assessment using the RMWB’s online search tool on the municipal website.
Residents wishing to dispute their assessment can speak with an RMWB assessor. If they remain unsatisfied with the assessment, an appeal can be filed with the Assessment Review Board no later than April 29, 2024.
