Aiming to improve public transportation within Fort McMurray, the RMWB is making improvements to several bus routes.
The changes come in response to feedback from transit users and will help reduce overcrowding on some routes.
Starting Friday, March 8, additional evening service is being added on several key routes in Fort McMurray.
Route 7 – Abasand Heights
- To improve evening service, three new trips will operate at 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00 from Monday to Friday.
Route 8 – Beacon Hill Drive
- To improve evening service, three new trips will operate at 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00 from Monday to Friday.
Route 12 – Thickwood to Timberlea
- To support later evening service for Routes 7, 8, 61 and 91, Route 12 will move to hourly service outside of peak times. From Monday to Friday, the route will operate hourly from 8:30 to 13:30 and from 15:30 to 22:30.
- On Saturday and Sunday, the route will operate hourly from 6:30 to 22:30.
Route 61 – Thickwood
- To improve evening and weekend service: Three new trips will operate at 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00 from Monday to Friday.
- Eight new trips will operate at 7:30, 9:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30, 17:30 and 21:30 on Saturday and Sunday.
Route 91 – Longboat Landing
- To provide additional later evening service: Three new trips will operate at 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00 from Monday to Friday.
- Two new trips will operate at 19:00 and 20:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
Route 92 – Syncrude Sport and Wellness
- This route will be rerouted to Denholm Gate. Riders can access Route 92 at Stop 09012 on Denholm Gate in place of Stop 10054 on Prairie Loop Boulevard.
- There are no time changes impacting riders.
