Seven names have been selected by Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) staff and residents for the “Name That Plow” contest.

12 names were shortlisted for residents with more than 1,500 votes being submitted.

Six names were originally going to be selected however the RMWB increased it to seven in recognition of the creative names.

The names will be installed on winter maintenance machines in the new year:

• MacFlurry
• Clearopathra
• Polar Patroller
• Sleetwood Mac
• Flurry Murray
• Scoop Doggy Dog
• kona opanâykewin (Cree) – snow clearing/removal
  • yath dįthi beschani (Denesųłıne) – snow mover truck

The RMWB says to keep an eye out for the name tags on the machines as they clear away the snow.
