Wood Buffalo RCMP is investigating a suspicious death, as well as a vehicle fire, that they believe may be connected.

RCMP responded to a call of a suspicious death at 10:10 a.m. on Dec. 12, 2023.

This incident sent police to Parsons Access Road, near the Highway 63 turn-off, and forced the closure of the road for most of the day.

Shortly after arriving on the scene, police received a call of a vehicle fire on Tower Road.

The identity of the victim and the make of the vehicle have not been released.

RCMP believes these incidents are connected and is asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the event or who may have footage is asked to come forward.
