Weather is delaying the construction of the winter road to Fort Chipewyan.

While construction work on the seasonal road is underway, the unseasonably warm November has limited the progress.

Normal highs for this time of year are around -8 C, with lows nearing -17 C. The forecast for much of this week shows daytime highs within a few degrees of the freezing mark.

The RMWB says crews will continue to work to safely open the Winter Road as soon as possible in December.
