The Alberta Government is changing how Photo Radar is used in the province.
To eliminate what they call “fishing holes,” the province is stopping the use of photo radar on ring roads in Edmonton and Calgary.
They are also talking to municipalities about getting rid of all radar locations labelled as “fishing holes” across the province.
However, these changes may not directly affect Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo. Last November, the municipal council decided not to renew the contract for Automated Traffic Enforcement in our region.
This means that photo radar may become a thing of the past after the contract expires in December.
