The poppy campaign is officially underway in the RMWB.

Poppies are worn as a visual marker to honour and never forget those who served.

Mayor Sandy Bowman received Wood Buffalo’s first poppy this year by Legion President, Michael Gray on Oct. 27, 2023.

Poppy trays will now be set up throughout the region for purchase.

Funds raised within the region from the campaign support local veterans in need.

Volunteers are also needed for the campaign and those looking to sign up can do so through Wood Buffalo volunteers.

The campaign runs until Remembrance Day on Nov. 11, 2023.
