A black cloud of smoke filled the sky early Friday afternoon and the cause has been determined to be a single-family house fire.

A spokesperson for the RMWB says Regional Emergency Services (RES) received the first report of the fire at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2023.

Units arrived at 2:30 p.m., and the first firefighters on the scene reported flames coming from the roof of the home.

The fire was reported as under control by 2:50 p.m.

The RMWB wants to remind residents to stay away from the fire scene to give firefighters room to work.
