The RMWB is calling on students to join the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Youth (MACOY).
MACOY consists of 28 Wood Buffalo students ranging from grades 9 to 12.
The students work closely with community leaders, support community events, and participate in other volunteer work throughout the year.
The program was founded in 1993 to be an organization which advises Council on services, programs, and issues related to youth in the region.
“The entire region benefits when young people have the opportunity to make a difference, and MACOY provides a space where that can happen,” said Mayor Sandy Bowman.
“I encourage anyone eligible to apply for the program, which allows members to collaborate with their peers in continuing this important, engaging work.”
Students looking to apply can do so online and the deadline to apply is August 21, 2023.
Those looking to read more on MACOY, or even apply, can do so at rmwb.ca/MACOY.
