The Municipality is extending an invitation for a special evening event tonight.
In partnership with the Wood Buffalo Regional Library and the It’s Time To Read Book Club, Indigenous Author Cody Caetano will be at Jubilee Centre at 7:00 p.m..
Caetano is a writer of Anishinaabe and Portuguese descent and an off-reserve member of the Pinaymootang First Nation.
His debut memoir, “Half Bads in White Regalia” is a national bestseller. It was named one of the best books of the year by The Globe and Mail and received the 2020 Indigenous Voices Award.
“This book hurtles towards difficult understandings about love and violence and family,” says Jordan Abel, author of NISHGA.
“At times I didn’t know whether I should laugh or cry.”
This evening’s event will showcase a presentation and reading by the author, followed by a question-and-answer session.
