A Fort McMurray man is facing numerous charges after a month-long investigation by the Wood Buffalo RCMP.
On April 27, 2023, Dawit Mola, 21, of Fort McMurray was arrested and charged with 14 offences.
Mola was charged with the following:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a restricted firearm
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5,000
- Operate motor vehicle without holding subsisting operator’s licence
- Five counts of failure to comply with release order condition
The Wood Buffalo RCMP also seized:
- 20 white pressed pills suspected to be oxycodone
- 90 grams of a white powdered substance suspected to be cocaine
- Over $2,500 in Canadian currency
- A loaded handgun
Mola was taken into custody and will make his first court appearance on May 23, 2023.
