The NDP is naming its candidate for the Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo riding for the provincial election.

Tanika Chaisson, an energy industry lab tech, will represent the party at the upcoming election on May 29.

Chaisson moved to Fort McMurray in 2014 after graduating from Memorial University, with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry.

She also serves as the chair of the Prairie Regional Council Young Workers Committee and was elected a local union trustee in 2019.
