Aftershocks in Progress as Earthquakes Rock North-West Alberta

12:01 PM Update:

Earthquakes Canada, a division of Natural Resources Canada, is reporting three earthquakes in the Peace River region this morning.

The first earthquake occurred at approximately 8:45 this morning near Reno, Alberta. The most recent data is measuring it at a magnitude of 4.5.

The second quake occurred at 8:59 AM, and is being reported as a 4.6 magnitude event followed by a third event at 9:07 AM measuring 4.6.

Earthquakes Canada says that there is an aftershock sequence in progress in the Peace River Area.

Albertans from Peace River through to Fort McMurray reported movement and shaking due to the earthquake.

As yet, there have been no reports of damage due to the earthquakes.
