The Alaskan female basketball team is wearing a new jersey for the Arctic Winter Games.
The team misplaced their usual uniforms but found a way to bounce back thanks to some quick thinking from the Games’ staff.
AWG Basketball Chair, Brendan Toner, put a call into Craig Hurley from Holy Trinity High School who happened to have some spare jerseys in his office.
“Brendan gave me the specifics… and I confirmed with him that Holy Trinity had what they needed,” said Hurley
“I knew all of our uniforms would say Knights on them and thought that there was something more that could be done.”
Hurly called up Megan Loxam, Trinity’s design, and digital media teacher, and she jumped into action.
On Sunday night they were busy stenciling “Alaska” on the new threads.
Team Alaska took to the courts wearing their new temporary Alaskan Knights jerseys.
