Police have confirmed that a Fort McMurray woman died in a house fire in Gregoire on Saturday.

Wood Buffalo RCMP stated that on Oct. 22 at roughly 2:40 p.m., police received a 911 call of a residence in the Gregoire area was on fire with two occupants inside.

Upon arrival, RCMP along with RMWB Emergency Services learned that a 34-year-old woman had succumbed to her injuries.

According to police, the other occupant of the residence was able to escape uninjured.

Wood Buffalo General Investigation Section, along with Fort McMurray Fire Investigators determined the fire was not suspicious.
