A 54-year-old man who had been hired to drive professionals around Fort Chipewyan while they visited or were working was arrested on May 28 after allegations of sexual assault.
The accuser, who previously traveled to Fort Chipewyan for work purposes, informed police of several alleged incidences.
According to police, multiple RCMP Detachments and Units from across Northern Alberta took part in the investigation following the alleged victim’s reports in April.
Brian Courtoreille has been accused of sexual assault, sexual assault with strangling, assault, forcible confinement, and criminal harassment.
Police are continuing to investigate and are asking to speak to anyone with information pertaining to the case.
