Police are seeking public assistance in locating a suspect wanted in an armed robbery in Fort McMurray.

On Friday, Mar. 25, the suspect entered a business and attempted to leave with $50 worth of liquor without paying.

As staff attempted to approach the suspect, the man pulled out a pocketknife and left the store.

Police say the suspect fled on foot towards Thickwood Boulevard.

The suspect is described as:

• Male with a light complexion
• Wearing Black sunglasses
• Wearing a black jacket with a hood up
• Carrying a dark coloured “Reebok” backpack

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP detachment at 780-788-4040.

If you know of the suspect’s whereabouts, please do not approach. Immediately call 911.
