Women in multiple rural communities are getting a chance to get a test to see if they have cancer.
A mobile mammography trailer will be visiting the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation and Fort McKay First Nation next month.
A mammogram is an x-ray of the breast and has been proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer.
The trailer will be stationed at the Dorothy McDonald Business Centre in the Fort McKay First Nation on September 15 and 16, and then the Fort McMurray #468 First Nation Health Centre on September 17.
Women between the ages of 50 and 74 can book an appointment by calling 1-800-667-0604.
Details about COVID-19 measures at the trailer will be shared during the call.
